Artisanal Iberico Chorizo

Made from the distinctive Iberico pork breed originating in Spain, this artisanal mild chorizo is seasoned with natural spices, offering a remarkable juiciness and flavor. Its enticing aroma when sliced hints at an exceptional taste experience. Packaged in a convenient skin pack, the slices are easy to separate, perfect for presenting beautifully on a plate to delight any Iberico enthusiast.

Produced in La Alberca, Spain, a World Heritage-designated Natural Reserve, this chorizo is cured for 40 days using traditional methods.

INGREDIENTS: Pork meat, salt, pimentón, dextrin, dextrose, garlic, oregano.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Refrigerate after opening.

For the best experience, Fermín recommends briefly running the plastic-wrapped chorizo under warm water (38ºC/100ºF) for 8-10 seconds to enhance its flavor and make separating the slices easier.

What are Iberico Pigs?

Iberico pigs are a traditional breed native to the Iberian Peninsula, primarily found in Spain and Portugal. Known for their distinctive black color and strong, sturdy legs, these pigs are often raised in a free-range environment where they roam oak forests and feed on acorns, especially during the "montanera" season. This acorn-rich diet, combined with their genetic predisposition, results in marbled meat with a rich, unique flavor. The high-quality fat of Iberico pigs infiltrates the muscle tissue, making their meat particularly juicy and flavorful, highly prized for producing premium cured products like jamón ibérico and chorizo.
